Introduction:
The Written Down Value (WDV) method is a commonly used depreciation method in which depreciation is calculated on the asset’s remaining book value at the end of each accounting period. As the asset’s book value decreases over time, the depreciation amount is reduced accordingly.
The Fresa Application simplifies this process by allowing users to configure asset details in the Asset Master and automatically calculate depreciation based on the selected depreciation method.
Note:
Depreciation is calculated based on the asset details configured in the Asset Master. Verify the asset information before clicking Calculate Depreciation to ensure accurate results.
Step 1: Log in to the Fresa Application and navigate to the Accounts module.
Step 2: Navigate to Accounts – Settings.
Step 3: Click Asset Master.
Step 4: For the required asset, click Depreciation.
Step 5: Enter or verify the following asset details:
Asset Value (Cost)
Salvage Value
Purchase Date
Capitalization Date
Depreciation Method: Written Down Value (WDV)
Depreciation %
A/C Cost
A/C Accumulated Depreciation
Click Save, and then click Calculate Depreciation.
Step 6: The depreciation is calculated successfully based on the configured Depreciation % using the Written Down Value (WDV) method.
